good running shoes for cheap???10 POINTS!!!?

ILikeBabie

i need running shoes that could work also as indoor soccer shoes. my old shoes like that were sambas but mine got ruined as they were my dad's then my sister's then mine. does anyone know where i could get shoes like that but for cheaper. btw i have about a size 8.5.

please help!! 10 points!

Answer
Good running shoes are never CHEAP. You can find running shoes for cheaper than the normal running shoe. I'd say the normal running shoe would run about $90-100. You can find running shoes for $50-$60. But honestly, if you're looking for a good shoe, you're not going to pay less than that. Please believe me when I say that when you get shoes for less than that, you're normally paying less because the shoes are of a lesser quality. They either won't provide the cushion, the support you need when running.

I recommend what the guy above me did. Go to a running store, get fitted. Then go on ebay to get them cheaper.

People on this site seem to want cheap, cheap... But you can get injured badly with the wrong shoes or bad shoes. Your feet are SO important. Or, you can buy the cheap shoes. They'll last a month and then you'll need to buy another pair. That adds up too.

Never go to walmart, payless or whereever to get a running shoe. Don't even go to a regular shoe store. They won't know what you need based on the shape of your foot or your footstrike. Go to the running store in your area. They'll watch you run and tell you what would work best for you. Again, then... once you have a specific brand and model... you can find them cheaper elsewhere if you need to.

Good but cheap running shoes for a beginning but a highly enthusiastic runner.?

I have found life around here a little boring lately, especially during the summer, so I am seriously thinking about starting running. I have read some running blogs which have plenty of advice on how to run, but nothing on how to choose good and cheap running shoes. I have seen some Nikes and Asics and Mizunos (I am in Japan) but there are so many of them this appears to be an unsolvable dilemma. I could just get some Nikes for running, but don't want to guess on such a serious issue. Neither do I want to spend a fortune on them. Please advise. Thanks!

Answer
Running shoes are designed based on how a person's foot and ankle perform when running. Different shoes help in different ways. The type of shoe you need depends on how your particular body works.

I would suggest consulting a running store, have them look at how you run, and then get shoe suggestions. They're going to tell you that you overpronate, underpronate, or are a neutral runner. They'll also look at how much you weigh and some other factors. Remember what they tell you and then either buy some shoes they recommend or come back to your computer and research shoes that fit people who run the way you do (based on what the clerk at the running store tells you).

Why is it important to use proper running shoes when running?

wiseone

This is probably a stupid question, I just started running and i'm using cheap $20 runners from walmart. They don't hurt my feet. I think they do the trick.. But should I actually buy some proper running shoes?

Answer
Cheaper shoes usually weigh more and will fatigue your legs faster(expensive shoes can weight less than half a pound and feel like nothing is there). Shoes should also be fitted to the arch of your foot, cheap shoe usually just have a generic arch that is bad for your feet. Next is arch support, with the cheap shoes you will feel it the next day. The grip on the bottom of the shoe should keep your foot stable. You also want the shoe to fit nicely to your foot, almost feel like it is part of your foot. If it is loose you can easily roll your ankle You should also make sure the shoe have comfortable heel support. Your calf muscle could be pulled from wearing improper shoes, and they will definately be sore the next day. The expensive shose will cut a lot of time off of your runs. I use to run Cross country and half marathons and the right shoes could cut as much as 30 secs off your mile times. The right shoes are important if you are a serious runner, but if you are only going for jogs every now and again walmarts should do fine.

Hey guys,
What brands and models of running shoes are good and cheap(I know that if I want good stuff, I have to pay but I am looking for those that is not very expensive and worth the money). I need it for running, gyming, training etc. Can you guys help me? Haha thank you!:D

Answer
You didn't say if you're male or female, so it's a little hard to recommend an exact model. I personally am a runner and prefer New Balance. I use to buy Nike and a few other brands but once I tried New Balance it's all I buy. They are made in the USA and are budget friendly. I pay around $60-$70 for shoes.

Zappos is a great online store with free shipping both ways!

What are the best cheap and comfortable running shoes?

iloveyou32

What are the best cheap yet comfortable running shoes? I need to buy some but i dont want to spend over 50 bucks..

Oh and what kinds of clothes should I work out in?

Answer
You want cheap shoes? I hate to say it but you will get what you pay for unfortunately. Go to your local Modell's, they usually have older models of running shoes by good brands such as New Balance, Nike, Asics and even addidas. Definately use a moisture wicking material when working out typically known as 'dry fit'. Cotton will just weigh you down & entrap the heat within your body making you feel more tired & sluggish. If you want to go cheap but decent; go to Kohls and check out Tek Gear. That is pretty good dry fit for a beginner. good luck : )

What are Good but cheap running shoes?

Josh

I need running shoes but i'm broke lol
They don't need to last a long time (about 4 months i'll need them)
but i'll be running every other day at least 2 miles for that 4 months

any suggestions on good/cheap running shoes?

Answer
Ugh, Maxime, this is my Y!A fear coming home to roost. Adam W was likely my other account, and I likely was promoting Avias before I had better information.

Avia shoes wear out quickly. They start out very comfortable, but progress to causing aches and pains much sooner than other brands. I had a series of problems which I thought were related to a variety of other things, but most of it turned out to be my crappy shoes. Stay away from Avia shoes.

Do visit department stores looking for sales, especially Kohl's (that's how I know Maxime pulled this answer from one of my old posts). You can get higher quality shoes like Nike, ASICS, and New Balance on sale if your timing is good. Typically at the beginning and end of running seasons, they discount athletic shoes to clear out stock and make room for new styles that all of the high school runners "must" have.
