what are the best running shoes for $60-$80? is nike better than adidas? are shox still hip?

redsoxstev

Answer
I am a passionate fan of Adidas. They make a quality shoe for a decent price. Their basic running or trail running shoes average about $50-$60 and last forever. My personal favorite is the Response trail shoe.

P.S. I recently cheated with a new pair of New Balance. I have to admit, while Adidas is still my first love, New Balance provides excellent support that I didn't even realize was missing. It even helped reduce pain in my bad knee. --Just food for thought.

Also I find that Nike is not true to size and tends to wear out quickly.

Suggestions on running shoes?

Em

I'm looking for some new running shoes. The pair I have now are old and are starting to hurt my feet and knees. I need some that have good support and are comfortable. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can't go over $80.

Answer
Best bet would be to go to a specialty running store. They should be able to watch you run/walk, and recommend a few different brands and models (let them know you budget, too). Then go someplace cheaper (Walmart, Target, etc) and get the shoe that the running store recommended.

I want to buy a nice pair of running shoes for around $80. what brand do you like the most? What do you think of ASICS??

Answer
Asics are a very good brand of running shoe & I have a friend that will only use the Asics gel series because they feel that they are the best.

I just bought a pair of New Balance trail runners a couple of weeks ago for $80 that are pretty good but that was here in new Zealand.

I have a blog that may help you with finding your foot type & has links to the best priced shoes available online if you would like some more information on selecting the right running shoes.

Running shoes have more cushion on the bottom of the shoe and have different heel shapes.
You can easily find great running shoes for under $80 if you know where to look.

What's the best running shoes if you have a limited budget?

Zeekster

I'm not a wealthy person and i can't go out and buy 80-120$ running shoes, but i'm trying to get active and was wondering if their are any good running shoes that are affordable...I understand that 15-20 bucks won't get you much, but say 30-45ish would be Awesome!

Answer
The guy above is very wrong. To stay healthy and away from injuries, you will need a quality pair of running shoes. Anyways, try shopping around on the internet and you should find some shoes for a great price. Try ebay or runningwarehouse.com. I usually get my shoes for around $55 or less from these sites.

What are good running shoes for active teens?

I am a 13 year old girl that is moderately active. I weigh about 95 LBS. if that makes a difference, I run in 5ks and run about 6-7 miles a week. I started seriously running in August of 2012, and have loved it ever since. I have under pronating arches on my feet (high arches). I also do pointe (ballet) and regular dance so my feet are pretty ugly from that. I also play volleyball and are planning to do track. I run on pavement, but sometimes the 5ks are on trails. I had under armor running shoes, but they are seriously lacking cushion and stability. So, the question is: I need new tennis shoes, and based on the information above do you have any suggestions on running shoes I should get? My price range is about $80-$120, but there is room for increases. I would prefer Asics, but I am open to any brands. Thanks for reading this!!!

Answer
Personally, I dislike Nike shoes since they are kinda expensive and they seem rather flashy. :/
But, like Chloe was saying, Asics, Brooks, and Nike are the better and more popular brands out there. From what I have seen of people participating in Track/Cross Country, this is what they generally wear.

If you can, it helps to go to a store that is able to analyze the shoe that is best for you in the store itself. Some stores have treadmills where they analyze your pronation and from that, they go through their selections and find shoes that are best. I think that this would be the best route, being that they will be able to find what is best for you in store.

Price wise, most shoes are within that price range, with only the extremely nice ones being + $120

Good luck (:

Where can I find inexpensive running shoes?

My friend is interested in running track in the NCAA for his Division 3 college, but he can't afford to spend $80-100 on running shoes. He looked into the Nike, Brooks, and New Balance wear testing programs, but they don't allow NCAA athletes to participate. I was wondering whether there's any chance someone knows of other relatively inexpensive options. Thanks.

Answer
Try places like Kohls and JC Penny (these would be best--as a college athlete i've gotten plenty of shoes from here that have lasted me many of miles), maybe marshalls or like a tjmax (they usually have slim pickings though) and you can get good quality shoes for less. Check the clearance racks at places like sports authority and dicks.

Also, if you can shop online you should try eastbay.com they usually have really good deals.
