Q on Running Shoes?

I'm thinking of buying running shoes but, I don't know what are the best brands out there. Can any of you people here recommend a top quality brand of running shoes? I'm thinking of buying Nike running shoes so what is the best Nike running shoe? Also, what is the difference between Nike Air Max 360 and Nike Air Max 180?

running shoes need to e specific for your ability and running style there are some store that will let you try them out by putting you on a treadmill and Analise your running stride.also there is an on line running store called road runner sports. they will help you if you call them or go to their website. they also have a 30 money back guarantee if the shoes do not work. Nike to me is confusing they have all these same name shoes with different numbers and I really have not figured it out, but they also have a website and people that are more than willing to assist you when you call their on line store. personally I like Asics and Saucony

Running shoes need to be fitted for you by a pro at a running shop, since which shoe you'll need depends on the shape of your feet and your individual stride and body mechanics. Running in a poorly fitted shoe is one of the leading causes of foot & leg injuries in runners, so your best bet is to find a specialty running store in your area (preferably not a big chain sporting goods store) and ask for a running shoe fitting. They should measure your foot in several different ways and watch you walk and run both barefoot and in socks (if they don't do this, go somewhere else). Based on this information, the person doing the fitting should be able to pull out several different shoes that might be a good match for you; then it's a matter of taking a little walk/run in each of them and deciding which is the most comfortable.

what brand of running shoes are the best? what kind? Any tips for buying running shoes would be greatly appreciated.

Running shoes are a pretty individual decision, based on how you walk/run, what kind of mileage you do, and what kind of surface you'll run on most of the time.

I went to a New Balance store for my most recent pair, and got great help for the sales person, who had me walk barefoot in the store so he could help me make the best decision. He also asked about how I was running now and what my intentions /goals were.

In the city where I live, there's a similar store that has helpful sales clerks, but sells a wider variety of brands. A nearby town has a Fleet Feet store, and they do the same sort of thing, I hear. I agree on Asics or Brooks. I used to wear adidas and Nike, but I've been wearing Asics for the last 3-4 years and I just bought by first pair of Brooks this year...what a difference. Much more comfortable! The best thing to do is go to a running shoe store and have them analyze your foot...they will fit you in a shoe designed for your foot type.

What's the difference between running shoes and weight lifting shoes?

I was looking online for some running shoes and came across weight lifting shoes and wanted to know what the difference was between the two. I run and weight and know that running shoes can better your performance by a ton when you run long distances but do weight lifting shoes do the same when lifting? If so how? Thanks to all who answered.

running shoes help absorb the shock put on your muscles and joints when you run, where weightlifting shoes help your body position into a more natural and efficient weight lifting form.

p.s. using the wrong shoes for running may injure you, but using the wrong shoes for weightlifting should not do any physical harm!

What are the best running shoes for motion control?

I need a new pair of running shoes, i'm an overpronator, and i have a medium arch. Most of the ones i've been finding for overpronators say "for flat footed, heavy runners" i'm definitely not flat footed or heavy, i have a smaller build, i'm 5'8 and weigh 145lb. Any suggestions?

if you find running shoes that are gray on the insides of the rubber sole, they're motion control shoes.

my shoes are asic gels. all my running shoes are asics but i love nike as well. id go with them.

but dont go to like sorts authority modells or anything. the people there 99% wont know what theyre talking about. go to a specialy running store to get your shoes, they'll find you the best ones(:

Just have a price range in mind and look for a pair of running shoes that feel comfortable as soon as you try them on. Comfort really is the only thing that matters. A pair at the top end of your price range is likely to last a bit longer and you rarely go wrong with a pair of Reebok, Adidas or Nike.
