after a few runs, depending on the shoe.

a word to the wise: never wear shoes for the first time at a meet, always use them in practice a few times before a meet to prevent (hopefully) blisters and pain.

Does anyone know of any specific running shoes that won't cause shin splints or stress fractures due to running on different terrain? I am a cross country runner and i get shin splints easy when i run on different surfaces. Thanks you for your help (:

Saucony (SOCK-a-knee) is a great shoe, very much beloved by truly serious runners, and they make a whole line of cross-country shoes, too (see link, below).

(Be advised that their "Grid" and "ProGrid" lines of shoes are the "real" running shoes for really serious runners.)
