Best shoes for standing all day?

Q. I am a dog groomer and work in a shop that has concrete floors, while I mostly stand on special anti-fatigue rubber mats, my feet kill by the end of the day.

I now where croc clogs as they are easy to hose down if I accidentally step in dog pee or poop, but they are not very good in the arch support department.

I don't want leather shoes as they will get ruined when they get wet.
Has anyone tried those walking shoes by sketchers ?

P.s don't want dorky old women looking shoes as I like to keep it a bit funky.

Answer
A lot of Nike women's running shoes offer good support and are stylish. They come in a lot of bright pretty colors and designs

women's flat casual shoes... are they bad for your feet?

im deliberately asking this question in the Running section of yahoo answers because im assuming you guys are better suited at answering this question since it involves feet! :)

Are flat shoes bad for your feet? I always wear flat shoes because theyre comfortable and I do a lot of walking.
Ive noticed that sometimes my calf muscles start hurting but usually this happens if im walking uphill or something like that... but usually im okay.
Has anyone else also experienced this aswell? If im going out to do normal stuff then i never wear heels because i think its pointless (theyre impractical because you can trip up on something). Also, apparently flat shoes are meant to be bad for your feet because youre supposed to have SOME kind of support for your arch, but most flats have nothing! For example, mine have no support or no shaped insole... its flat. Will this cause problems for me later on in life?
What are your thoughts on flat shoes? Are they just as bad as heels???

Answer
YES. Flat shoes do not provide any cushioning for your feet and doing a lot of walking in them are bad for you.

They're OK occasionally, and as cute as they are, I suggest getting a pair of actual shoes (like running shoes) if you want to help your leg and feet.

* Fat shoes can "strain the achilles tendon that runs from the back of the heel, and also the calf muscles in the back of the leg". Pain can develop after as little as two weeks.

* With NO shock absorbency and little heel support, there is the added risk of developing a painful heel condition called plantar fasciitis if you wear them constantly

So, basically, switch it up once in awhile. =)

If you still choose to wear flats everyday. Then...

* Calf stretches before, during and after long periods of flattie-wear can help to keep muscles loose and less vulnerable to strain

* Wear "real" shoes if you're going to be doing a lot of walking
