I want to know what COLOR/SHADE of jeans look best with these. Can you show me a pic.

Thanks!

Answer
I suggest you don't wear colored jeans... how about simple jeans? Not washed, not light.
I would go for dark SKINNY / STRAIGHT jeans, no flare!!!!!

Also, I think athletic shoes look awesome/better with capris. Like dark, skinny, tight jeans & rolled them up a little.

hope i've helped! Answer mine?:

Vibram 5 finger shoe information, are there any others like them, ect.?

UW Badger

I recently bought a pair of vibram shoes. Bikila's. My dad is now interested, are there any other companies out there that make similar shoes? If so what company and how can I get them. Another question, what is the recomended use for these shoes? What types of sports/activities? Are they dependable? Any major problems? How long do they last? Thanks for all your help!

Answer
The fivefingers are good for hiking, jogging, gym, swimming, or just everyday walking. I wouldn't run a marathon in them though.

Each models of the Vibram Shoes have specific characteristics. Why not take a look at this top 10 Vibram shoes information. They talked about the Bikila ones too.

I'm thinking about running the quarter marathon in May, and recently started running to get in shape, in addition to agility and strength training. I have a pair of saucony's that are a couple years old, but I am looking for something new because these ones have been making my arches hurt after I come back from a run. I was looking at the new underarmor running shoes they have, wondering if anyone has any input on these?, and just what you think would be the best running shoe available. Thanks for any input!

Answer
Definitely Asics. These are great shoes and are the most popular shoes out there. try runningexpo.com, they carry really good running shoes at great prices. use coupon socks2140 for free socks

I'm a woman (obviously) and a bit of an over pronator. I'm in the market for new running shoes. My previous pair were actually trainers, so I'm looking to get a "serious" pair for distances. I've done some other research online and plan on going to a running speciality store and all that. But I want to hear some other people's opinions about what works for them. Can you give me a hand?

Answer
ok, when buying running shoes there are two things u need 2 look 4: cushioning (more cushioning is needed 4 ppl w/ a larger build or who are prone to injury) and stability (u need moderate stability if u overpronate) If you are a woman w/ a normal build then here are your best options:

1. saucony omni moderate
2. new balance 767 or 1223
3. mizuno alchemy or nirvana
4. brooks adrenaline gts
4. asics 2120 or kayano

the vast majority of nike and adidas shoes are made for neutral runners (ppl who do not pronate at all). so niether of these brands will be suitable for you.

Hey, i haven't got any climbing shoes and im going to climb snowdon, it will probably take about 5 hours of walking too, will it be fine? :(

Getting climbing shoes isn't an option as i don't have time, my question is, will it be ok?

Answer
OK, no big problem. Best with walking boots..not climbing boots which are much stiffer....but trainers are fine if the soles are still grippy. It can get wet on Snowdon.....careful of slippy rock.
If you really mean climbing shoes...rock climbing shoes...well, they're not of much use for a walk up Snowdon. There's no rock climbing on the Pyg track or the Llanberis path...it's an uphill walk and then a downhill walk.
I do mountain running in trainers and low cut walking boots. Been up Snowdon maybe fifteen times or so walking or running.
Trainers are popular for mountain running for both men and women.

Take it easy, watch your step and keep your feet dry...the big thing when you're walking is dry feet.
When they get wet the skin softens, tiny rubs get to be damaging rubs and a blister blows up.....
Thin cotton socks with thick woollen socks outside, firm but not tight fitting footwear, and keep dry....no friction then and no blisters.
I used to treat over 300 a day of them on the Njimegan Liberation Marches in Holland...fabulous walking event with military and civilian teams from round the world and enormous parties and Blister Balls. Working all evening and marching next morning.
Four days of Paradise and fun.

http://www.4daagse.nl/index.php/en.html . . . . .
I was in a British Army marching team and I was a medic for the British military contingent but we treated all who came to us and for free...that's why they came. Busy old time.
Blisters are not fun. We drained them and filled them with Friars Balsam for the really bad ones for the top competitive teams who had to succeed at any price...honour and pride, a country's ambassadors in sport, the memory of who went before and the reason for the Marches, ...whatever reason, do not fail. Honour with victory those who we remember. And go home with a Nijmegan Cross.
Leave the balsam to get into the skin for a few seconds, drain it out, and put a dressing over it. Agony, and it turns swarthy soldiers into crying wrecks for a few minutes, but they can march the next day...with tanned skin....tanned hide that is, instead of raw skin.
Like tanning leather, but on live raw skin under the blister..
God, it hurts!!
Civvies got gentler treatment.....all TLC and sweet dressings. Met some lovely people, gorgeous girls from around the world...and treated their feet, haha
Take it steady....keep an eye on the weather and eat well. Mountains and hunger go together.
All that fresh air and exercise. Great view though...enjoy it.

Mbarki

I have mobile phones store and I need to build an online store in order to be able to sell worldwide , My question is what is the BEST and EASY to use CMS for building this kind of store ? I know about Magento but I think it's not to use , Please help me.

Answer
Hi, if I were in your shoes I would choose Magento, and here I am gonna state why.

Premium Magento templates include: unlimited categories/products, multi language support, currency switcher, customizable additional fields for each product (ex. color, size), customizable/automatic new products block on homepage, reviews, search/advanced search, etc
Magento has a number of specific features, that made it so popular. They include:
Related products â now you can assign a few products to every product, that will be displayed in a block like âYou also may be interested inâ. This block is very important for any online shop, because it allows you to show your visitors similar products on the same page.
Up-sells and cross-selling products â you can also assign additional products from a different related category to your products: chargers to cell phones, wrapping to flowers, coolers to processors, etc. This is another unobtrusive way to show more products to your visitors. Owners of large online shops say, that 20-40% of accessories product category is sold like this.
SEO features â Magento has all necessary SEO tools to make your website search engines friendly: meta keywords, titles and descriptions for homepage, static pages, product/category pages, xml sitemap, SEF URLs, etc.
Attributes â perhaps one of the most important Magento specific feature. It allows owners add specific filters for their products and allow customers filter products by clicking links in the left/right column. It allows you to filter results by price and by any custom filters (like color, size, manufacturer, number of items, etc).
Multi shop â the feature allows you to have a few different shops under the same roof. You can run a few online shops using the same admin page, set common settings for all shops and add specific settings/products to different shops.
Premium Magento themes can be found here:
http://www.templatetuning.com/magento-themes-type/page1.html

But Magento admin-panel can be way too difficult for a newbie..
Then you should choose Jigoshop (e-commerce Wordpress) : http://www.templatetuning.com/jigoshop-themes-type/page1.html, and learn more about them http://www.templatetuning.com/blog/2012/10/24/jigoshop-themes/

Their domain info is hidden
so you have no idea who you are giving your money or credit card info to. - red flag

Jordan shoes do not need to be marked down- they sell at regular price - red flag

When you go to their "contact us" page- there is a blank message form. Who are they ? Not even a free hotmail address to contact them. Say they keep your money. Thats the end of the road.

They accept Western Union/ Moneygram- red flag
Both good companies, but you never ever use them to send money to a stranger. They encourage this method w/ a 5% discount offer. Then they can merely say- we didnt get pmt..and you have no proof with WU or Moneygram.

The fact that they ship EMS-- I would almost guarantee this is another counterfeit Chinese site. The sizes on these trademark violation shoes, dont always run true to size.
They dont take returns except with a few exceptions. And these trademark violation shoes are often seized by customs.
Jordan shoes arent cheap. When they are..theyre fake.

I would not buy anything from here, as they have masked who they are. Reason ? Its because Gucci, Chanel and many others are filing lawsuits on these people using their trademarks. They were safe in another country--til just recently.
FAQ page is full of iffy stuff. I think they just keep your money. I study a lot of these site for people on YA.
I dont trust this one

What is the most supportive running shoe from Nike?

best running shoes for overpronators image

Devon

I'm looking for a long-lasting, supportive running shoe preferably from Nike. All of my other running shoe's support break through and go flat after a long time and I'm looking for a running shoe that has GREAT support on the high arcs on my feet that will last a long time!

Answer
1. Nike zoom structure 11 or 12 is posted for overpronators. Great shoe.

2. What you are probably looking for is a good insole. Look into green or blue superfeet insoles. Kind of expensive at arround 40 bucks but well worth it! Take your favorite pair of shoes into a fleet feet or other running store and ask them to cut them for you. You can do it your self but be sure to do it correctly. Make sure it has a few mm to move inside the shoe while running. Do not buy a gel type insert. They are the opposite of what you are looking for. Good luck!!!

What is the brand called for the best running shoe/trainer in your opinion?

.

I'm looking to get me a good pair of running shoe/trainer.

Answer
I think, there's not a 'best brand' or 'best shoe', there is the 'adequate shoe'. If you want good running shoes, you need to know your biomechanics(if you are neutral or overpronator).
When you know this, it is easier to fing which shoe best fits your needs as a runner. Nike running has a shoe finder which recommends the shoe that best fits you depending on your arch and your stride and the surface you are going to use it.

I am 5'7 and weigh 150 pounds with shoes on. 6 months ago I weighed 180 pounds. Since then I have been running, and lifting weights. I am now at the point where I look cut to others but to me I feel like a twig. Do you think 5'7 150lbs is to skinny? I am not opposed to pictures if people ask on case to case. Dont really want to post here though.

Answer
150 is not too skinny. Your weight should be per this sight within few pounds say (+) or (-) ten pounds.
Just remember that we are all individuals. So do not worry.

Link:

http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/bmi.â¦

But it is very important to feel good about your looks. If you keep doing what you are doing then you will reach a stage when you will not loose more weight and as you develop more mussels at the expense of the fat tissue you will bulk up. This is because volume per volume mussels weighs more then the fat.

Here is some more info.

Weight loss is simple but needs will power and discipline. Loose a pound per week but better still loose an 1/2 pound per week and keep it off for ever slow and steady wins the race. Haste is waste and it all shows up on your waist, in no time.

Your weight should be per the link below. To loose you need to eat right. Not eating carbohydrates is wrong you must consume all food groups. Little unsaturated fat is a must and some complex carbohydrate and fruits should be included too, eat lots of vegetable and rest of the calories should be in proteins. Avoiding buns and cake is Ok but must not be excluded, if you exclude any items then the craving will take over all of a sudden and it can be really bed and throw you off the diet without even knowing what happened.

You may be slightly over or under weight, but if you are under 30 years of age then you can still grow taller, by doing:
1). Pull ups.
2). Bicycling.
3).Swimming.
4.)Stretching.

You cannot loose weight just by watching the calorie consumption unless you are super active. You do need to find time to do body parts specific exercises paying attention to side bends and abdominal routine. You can find them on the Internet.

Here is some more info:

Link:

http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/bmi.â¦

The best way is to eat right and exercise, loose it very slowly a pound per week but 1/2 pound will be even batter, loose it slow and keep it for ever loose it fast and gain it all back plush a few pounds. haste is waste and it just shows up on your waist latter.

Just eat right, sleep 8 to 9 hours, drink a gallon of water and exercise. Math is simple, burn 3500 calories and loose 1 pound of fat. Eat the calories per link and you will not loose mussels tissue.

Hint: You need to use the weight if you like to bulk up for competition, or just to show off. For toning you must not use weights or only very light weights.

Read Body Building, How to increase the height and weight loss answers given by me in the yahoo answers.

But here is some general info:

Study this site and make your own program based on the Knowledge imparted by the site and then go from there.

Click on the blue/green high lighted items on this site and read to see if any of it applies to you too.

Now click on "minootoo" then click on "Best Answers" you will see lots of Qs? answered by others and myself just pick and chose what is applicable to you and read them they will have more info and the site to look up.

How can You change your look for under 150$?

cheer4life

I want to change my look for the new school year and my dad gave me a limit and i'm wondering how i can change my look; clothes etc.. also tips! pleas and thnx

Answer
Hair and makeup changes are a great way for people to notice your changes, so I suggest starting with these, especially on your budget.
Hair can be very cheap at small shops and chain hair dressers that aren't very well run. Now you might be like EW GROSS OMG but the thing is, there can be real talent. Scope the place out before hand and see how peoples hair looks when they walk out. If it looks like a poodle was super-glued to their head, back away!

With your edgy new do, you'll want some new makeup, especially if you dont usually wear it. If you dont, go for makeup that enhances your features and shows off the best part off your face. If you've done this all your life and you're bored, try some black eyeliner or red lipstick. Go for the edgy retro look! Try something new. Either way, get these makeup supplies at your local CVS- if you decide you like the look and you get some more money, buy some better quality makeup at Sephora.

When it comes to re-inventing yourself on a budget, I have a rule- 2/3 of your money is reserved for practical peices. Now, I know you're thinking "I don't want practical, I want to be wild!". Well, there are still basics if you want to go biker chic- leather jacket, skinnies, ect. So if your going alternative, stock up on everyday wear like tutus, or whatever.
Now I realize you have limited funds, so thats why I suggest finding a great thrift store for this, because with the remaining 1/3 of your money, buy cute, spazzy accesories. Live it up. Belts, shoes, ect.

My heart goes out to you on being short on cash- so am I. But I recommend using my 2/3, 1/3 method throughout the year so that your new look can last.

Hope that helped!!
:)

I've probably put 300 miles on these shoes... they're great.

I need to get some running shoes for football because when do our conditioning my really hurt from runnning in vans. The vans I have are really terrible and are so flat footed. I can't really spend that much money on running shoes right now but what are some good affordable ones?
With comfort
Any brand any design i don't really care as long as I can afford some good ones.
Thanks

Answer
Any shoe will be better than Vans! Asics are good. They come in a wide range of prices. It doesn't really matter what people tell you here. Go to a athetic shoe store and ask the salesperson. Then most important, try them on! Don't assume they'll "break in." A good running shoe is comfortable right out of the box.

Where is the best place to buy tennis shoes?

best tennis shoes review
on ... ' Tennis Shoe Reviews & Customer Ratings - Top & Best Rated Products
best tennis shoes review image

stiffbreez

I'm looking for a pair of tennis shoes since I've been playing regularly. Also, how do tennis shoes differ from other shoes? I'd like a pair that are relatively inexpensive.
Thanks.

Answer
I'm a shoe fanatic. I usually have two pairs of court shoes so that I can switch shoes and cut down on the wear and tear. But we can get into that later. Let's talk about shoes.

How are tennis shoes different?
1. Tennis shoes are constructed to provide good lateral support for all the quick changes in direction. If you try playing tennis in running shoes you could very well sprain an ankle if you change directions too quickly and roll out of your shoe.
2. Another difference is that tennis shoes are usually reinforced in the toes to keep all the world's "toe-draggers" from wearing holes in the front of their shoes.
3. And the last big difference is that tennis shoes are usually made with a more durable material for the outsole.

What should you keep in mind when choosing a shoe?
1. The surface that you play on. Shoe manufacturers make different outsoles for the different surfaces. Shoes for hard courts will traditionally have a herringbone pattern. However, these soles don't do well on clay because the herringbone gets clogged with clay and you'll lose all your traction. If you play on clay, then you'll want a shoe with more of a wide-open pattern on the sole. Also, if you play on hard courts, you'll want a shoe with a good durable outsole. Most manufacturers make shoes with guarantees of different lengths--meaning that if you wear through your sole in six months they'll replace your shoes.
2. Weight is an important factor as well. There is a manufacturer that I don't like (I'll leave them unnamed to not bias your decision) because I feel like I'm wearing a pair of M1 tanks on my feet. I don't mind a heavier shoe for other sports, but for tennis it really bothers me.
3. And finally, you'll want to keep the fit in mind. Traditionally, Adidas have a narrower footbox and Nikes end up being kind of middle ground. But that doesn't mean that there aren't exceptions within their lines. There is also the difference in foot type. If you pronate/supinate then you may want to stay away from different shoes. Actually, Tennis magazine has really good shoe reviews. You may want to check that out, because they discuss fit. www.tennis.com

Where to buy? I usually buy over the internet. But that's because I know which shoe lines fit my feet well. You'll want to be able to try your shoes first. Look around at your local sporting goods stores and possibly at a local racquet club/tennis store. If you want to buy online, tennis warehouse is where I usually shop. They have user reviews online and lots of sales. You may want to check out Wilson's line of shoes, because they have good shoes that aren't too pricey and most come with guarantees.

Anyway, good luck in your search. Let me know if I can be of more help.

What are the advantages of wearing shoes specifically made for tennis compared to cross trainers, for example?

Jrg M

I've read reviews of people saying how the sole of their tennis shoes wore out in a few months. That's because the sole of tennis shoes are thin. Cross trainers have much thicker tread. And I play tennis in them. How would it improve my playing, if I wore tennis specific shoes? Somebody once claimed that the heel of tennis shoes is lower, thus making for better balance while hitting the ball. Somebody else claimed they have better lateral support.

Well? :)

Answer
Have you ever seen the soles of tennis with curvy patterns. that is built for a better grip in lawn and clay. and yes you can use other suitable shoes on hard court although they lack some specific features that shoes built especially for tennis have like one may experience some problems with side ways running and recovering. Tennis shoes are specially built for instant grip which may not be available in others. And you may even experience some knee pains if you don't use right kinda shoes for tennis.

Tennis shoes are a little different than other shoes, because of the tremendous need for lateral support. Unlike a running shoe, where the concern is mostly for forward motion, tennis shoes must endure the constant action of sideways starts and stops. Also, tennis shoes will usually have reinforced toe and heel pads because of the fact that tennis players will often drag the toe or heel of the shoe across the court creating a lot of wear and tear in those areas.

Answer
There is no such thing as "The best shoe for women" but there is such a thing as "the best shoe for you".I personally don't like Nike or Adidas for running. The seem to be more about style and gadgets than function.I love Brooks. You first have to figure out what kind of runner you are,and your running style. Then get fitted. Some of the best brands are:

How many miles can I get out of a new pair of running shoes before its time to replace them? Just a middle-of-the-road pair of asics, nothing fancy.

Answer
It depends on the road condition and the make but as a general rule they should give you between 300- 500 miles. No matter how nice they look they should be discarded on reaching 500 mile for sure. I'm a serious runner myself.

What's the difference between trail-running shoes and running shoes?

Vitavetave

I'm on a tight budget right now and the cheapest quality running shoes I came across were trail-running shoes. I usually run on cement, so would this be a bad investment?

Answer
They can be heavier, more stable, have more aggressive tread, and usually have less cushioning. Some transition to roads better than others. Some incorporate quality waterproofing.

Cement is the hardest surface on which you can run -- you'll often want more cushioning than the average trail shoe provides.

When it comes to running shoes, it's more important to find the right shoe(s) for you than just the cheapest shoe in the short-term. If you have to buy other shoes, get injured, etc., what's the cheapest shoe right now will not still be the cheapest shoe in a month or two.

I'd try to find the right shoe options for you while ignoring price a bit more, and then spend time shopping around, finding sales or coupons, older models, etc., if you need to.

Answer
Information about some running shoes and spikes for hardcore runners:
To improve on your endurance, you need to practice running distances about twice as far as your event.

Key for running shoes -

The better the shock absorption is the better the shoe is. Whenever possible, it is best to try them on before a purchase.

An ideal shoe will fit your foot like a slipper. Your running shoes are the key to staying injury free. Knowing how to use them will enhance your speed. You can wear any type of shoe you want for training in. But you should have a second pair of shoes just for racing in.

Oversize Trainers To Improve Your Speed -
The best type of trainer to wear is one that is either a half or full size too large for your feet. Buy a high quality cushion inset sole and place it in the shoe. This gives your feet added shock absorption protection. This could be a big help against Shine Splints. If one foot is longer than the other, buy the trainers based on the longest foot.
Except for hurdlers practicing their hurdle form, use this shoe for all of your running practices, including high speed sections. When you change shoes for races, you will find that your feet feel light and that your race time results are constantly on the speedy end of your speed range.

Shoes For Racing In:
A racing shoe (flats or spikes) that properly fits your foot and used for race purpose only, will enhance your speed. These shoes are normally very light but do not support your feet like trainers. You can make many brands of racing shoes feel very comfortable for use without soaks by placing a thin, soft cushion, flat insole in it. Replace the insoles when they begin to show signs of wear or when they are flat in your impact area. Insoles and arch supports can be bought in some grocery stores. If you use arch supports, place it in your racing shoe too. If one foot is longer than the other, buy this pair of shoes based on the shortest foot. However, if the toes on the longer foot are knuckling up in the shoe, then the shoes are too short - get a longer pair.

Hurdler shoe issue:
Shoes play a huge part of helping a hurdler be fast, especially in the short distance hurdles. This is not practical, but hurdlers need three pairs of track shoes. They need their proper foot fitting racing spikes, they need a pair of proper fitting running shoes for hurdle work practices only and, they need their oversize comfortable running shoes with extra cushion protection for all other running activities.

Wearing Spikes To Train In:
There are times when using spikes in a training section is very important to the athlete. Sprinters, hurdlers, pole vaulters, javelin throwers; long, triple and, high jumpers should wear their spikes when trying to calibrate their steps and starting block position. Once the measurements have been established with your spikes on, take them off and put on your trainers. Use your trainers to find the location of your established starting points. The order of finding your points should be with spikes first and then with trainers, never the other way around. This is because trainers vary too much in size, shape and, length for the same size foot - change your trainers and you change the dimension of your foot. For this group of people, knowing how to find your precise starting points with your racing shoes on, assures you a consistent range of high end results for your discipline.

when treating plantar fasciitis should you stay off of your feet completely?

Lynvest L

When treating that foot condition plantar fasciitis, should you stay off of your feet 'completely' for one or two weeks, or can you walk around and do little chores at very short intervals?

Answer
When mine flared up I was told to stay off of them completely and ice them. Once they started feeling a bit better I was told to never walk barefoot, wear good tennis shoes with inserts in them (possibley get orthodics made for your shoes). I usually wear what I am supposed to but once in awhile wear a pair of flip flops since I am in sunny CA. You can do what ever feels comfortable to you. If you are in pain after walking or being on your feet too long a pain reliever and a frozen bottle of water under the arch of your foot usually helps. There are also some excercises you can do for your feet.Good luck!

How to get rid of plantar fasciitis fast ?

Lilian P

I am a track runner and I felt a sharp pain on the arch of my right foot two days ago when I was practicing. I found out that it could have been plantar fasciitis and I really need to get rid of it because I have a track meet in a week and need to practice. The pain is unbearable, and I don't think I can handle it when running long distance. Please help, how can I heal it as fast as possible ?

Answer
Hello,

First of all I am sorry that you have this pain, it must be frustrating.

It is difficult to say exactly if this is indeed what you are suffering from.
In order to diagnose you better please answer these questions:

1) Do you have pain in your heel as well?
2) Do you have high or low arches?
3) What kind of shoes you usually wear? (when not running)
4) How long are you a track runner?
5) Does it hurt worse first thing in the morning?
6) Is there any visible bruising or redness?
7) Is it painful to the touch?

Here are a few things you can do right now:

1) Ice your arch at least 4 times a day, either by applying ice directly or by rolling a frozen bottle under your heel and arch when you sit down.

2) Avoid walking/running on your hurt heel/foot for a few days.

3) Wrap it up with an ace bandage.

4) Purchase custom made orthotics that you can wear in your running shoes.

Again, if you can answer my questions I would be happy to assist you further.
You can write to me directly if you prefer, my email is in my Yahoo profile or itaiw@yahoo.com

What companies are considered monopolistic competition?

Q. So an example I was given was Kellogg's Raisin Bran as a monopolistic competition. Would Nike be a good example? I figure there are many firms in the athletic shoe industry and there is differentiation in its product, I think.

Answer
Vendors at festivals all selling identical soft drinks at the same price. XM Radio and Sirius Radio, both selling basically the same service, at I believe the same price. Coke and Pepsi, along with some minor players, all selling the same dark, sweet, carbonated drink, at basically the same price, except for the regular promotions they run. Garden centers, all selling the same Bradford Pear trees, rhododendron, and blue rug junipers at basically the same prices.

They only compete by offering better service, location, or perceived quality.

I don't see Nike as fitting into this, mostly due to my own buying experiences with shoes. I think that though we have basically athletic shoes, they are all rather different. I can't even wear Nikes or Reeboks, but Adidas, Asahis, and New Balance much better. And even amoung them there are clear differences. Adidas having a higher insole, Asahis just fitting the rest of my foot better, and New Balance having better soles. Just my opinion about these shoes though, and I'm sure other people feel quite differently about the distinct qualities of each. That in itself shows that shoes aren't all that much alike.
