Weak Ankles?

Jess

I have softball practice every day, but when we practice outside on rough terrain, my ankles and heels always hurt. My friend suggested that it could be my cleats, but they've never bothered me before.

Answer
Are they a new pair of shoes? They may not fit you right. The shoes you wear impact how your feet hit the ground when you walk or run, and if they don't fit correctly, then your feet could be hitting unevenly or incorrectly. I know rolling on the outside of your feet will weaken the ligaments on the outside of your ankles and cause pain and damage over time (I've got that problem). I'd wrap your ankles with athletic tape or ace bandages and switch back to an old pair of shoes!

Good running shoes for a beginner and general running advice?

CanofCornI

I'm going to start running regularly and I was wondering what kind of shoes I should get.
I'm a female with very high arches. I'm starting with 2 miles a day 6 days a week. I notice that I get tired pretty easily and I try to run through it. I'll run about a quarter of a mile, walk a quarter, run a quarter, etc. Is this okay at first or should I make my running longer? Shorter? Any more experienced runners with advice out there? Thanks :D

If further information would help just tell me and I will reply with an edit.

Answer
Your running is fine, continue to pace yourself and walk and stop and rest as you feel the need. If you are older than 35, then stay at your current schedule for about six months before pressing further and or faster.

GOOD running shoes for woman?

Hinda

i do alot of intense running and i need some help finding pairs of sneakers that are good for my feet/legs. any advice? please only if you know what your talking about

Answer
Well to every runner there's a different shoe, i can't tell you what shoe will be best for you, but you can if you go to a running shop, or see a peditrist. i recommend going to a running shop, (like dick's sporting goods, or another place like that) and talking to the specialist there, they can usually tell you a good shoe.
What matters in running are the width and the arch of your foot, some shoes have support for high arches, and less for low, or flat feet, all this will factor into a good shoe. As far a brands, nike asics, newbalance, adidas are all good brands, it just depends on the style you want and the arch of your foot.
good luck

What are some good running shoes for woman?

molly

I have fairly high arches and some foot problems so extra cushioning would be a plus. Also, are those shoes that tone your body work at all? I have heard they put extra strain on your joints.

Answer
Ok...first things first. High arches indicates that you under-pronate meaning you need a cushioning shoe. My suggestions are the Asics 2150 & 2160 model, Asics Nimbus or Kayano. Brooks Adrenaline 10 or Ravenna, Nike Lunarfly and Lunar Glide.

Secondly...sorry to say, no there is absolutely no research to support that Sketchers Shape-Ups or Reebok's Easytone and Runtone shoes do anything in terms of muscle toning or enhance running performance in any way. The theory behind these shoes is that by landing on an unstable surface it sends a signal to the brain to contract more stabilizing muscles along the leg in order to maintain balance. Again, this is the theory and has not been subjected to testing by either shoe company. A woman came into Dick's Sporting Goods where I work as the "Running Specialist" with a broken Cuboid bone, a weight bearing bone in the foot, after exercising in a pair of Reebok Easytones.

There is however scientific studies conducted on the benefits of a more minimalistic approach. This however takes a lot of time and dedication to more to a more barefoot experience and something which I suggest with the warning of taking it slow. If you choose this route I'd suggest trying the Adizerio Sonic by Adidas or the Brooks Green Silence as transition shoes from a heel strike pattern to a forefoot striking pattern. One you can safely land on your forefoot for many miles I'd suggest trying something like Vibram Five Fingers.

Good luck and Happy Running

What are the best women's running shoes for shin splints?

What are the best running shoes for shin splints?

rabbits&ho

I have had shin splints for about 2 years now and have tried stretching and icing, but it hasn't helped much. Therefore, I'm really hoping if I buy some new running shoes they might help. Does anyone have any suggestions or even any tips for my shin splints? Thank you!

Answer
I've got the same problem, very annoying.

I tried barefoot running which helped a lot, couple of laps a couple of times a week round the local rugby pitch. It strengthens your foot muscles, makes you run in a different manner which takes some of the strain off your front calf and as your only doing a short distance, you don't get sore and don't get annoyed with running.

A foam roller is also a really good thing to get, used twice a day after a series of toe raise and other foot/calf exercises can make a lot of difference.

I won't dare to recommend shoes as feets are all different, but do ask your local running shop for better advice.

Volleyball Shoes?

vballgal8

I was just wanting to know whether there were as an actual difference between "volleyball shoes" and normal trainers, and what that difference could be.
Thanks.

Answer
The major difference in volleyball shoes and running shoes is that running shoes are made for RUNNING. Sure, you may run in volleyball, but the shoes you'd want should have a nice high arch that will allow you to jump high. Volleyball shoes also have better grip on the ground.

It has to do with the support provided by the shoe. Running shoes are made for forward and backward movement and provide cushion for the impacts caused by the foot hitting the ground during running. They do not provide adequate support for lateral movements and for the turns associated with volleyball.

Can you use running shoes for volleyball shoes?

Taylor

I have heard to use a flat shoe but i have no clue... Can anybody help??

Answer
A good running or cross training . Like Asics or New Balance if you can't get a good Volleyball shoes.
Used them for Volleyball only.

What is the best running shoe?

William S

What is the best running shoe for a stocky guy. I am about 5'9 and 210 and i lift constantly. I would like to start into running more than just a mile here and there. The issue is i am big and i run on the outside of my feet(overpronated or supination). Any help? I am looking for style brand etc.

Answer
The best running shoe is the one that fits you. Any of the shoe companies make shoes that fit slightly differently. You need to try them on.

Your feet swell a bit when you run, so the best time to try some on is after a run, or later in the day, when you've been on your feet for a while. Wear the type of socks that you would wear running.

If you are concerned about support, or have specific foot/leg issues/pains that you need to address, go to a running specialty store, where they really know the shoes, are experienced working with different types of runners, and may even be able to put you on a treadmill and video your gait to see and show you what your foot is really doing.

What are some qualities of running shoes?

feryue

What are some qualities of running shoes? My coach told us to get some running shoes, but I do not know what to get. What are some defining aspects of running shoes? Where can I get a decent pair for a decent price?

Answer
Cushioning is #1(and maybe #2 and #3 as well). Some shoes are designed for motion control for runners that have overpronation or supination, etc., but I'm not sure it's a big help. Differences between shoes include things like weight, flexibility, construction(full slip vs half), outsole pattern and durability. Every manufacturer will claim their system of cushioning gives your more than anyone elses, but it's mostly hype. Fit and feel for you will be the most important things in the end. Additionally, some shoes are better for high milage than others so you should match the kind of running you'll be doing to the shoe.
Definitely go to a specialty running store. They have the best selection, will find out what kind of runner you are(some have treadmills to see), and can explain the differences between various models.

Women's running shoe recommendation?

Now or Nev

Any running shoe recommendation?

I tend to stumble when I wear bulky running shoes, so i'd prefer something lightweight, narrow, and somewhat minimalist, but still plenty of support and protection.

I have an average arch, but mild overpronator. I'm female, 5'4", 105lbs. I'm more of a light jogger than a serious runner. I use treadmills or go outdoors.

My feet get sweaty really fast, so the shoe must be very breathable.
I meant mild UNDERpronator, not over.

Answer
If you avidly run, I recommend going into a runner's shop to get fitted. It sounds like a process that you do just to say you did, but it really does help. But if you're running every now and then, ot sounds like you need one of the Nike training shoes, or an ASIC lightweight.

What are some running shoes that are light, comfortable and great for running.?

nicknguyen

It would help if the shoes could be found at a typical shoes store like finishline, footlocker, champs, etc.

Answer
There really isn't a perfect shoe that fits for everyone. But, I use Nike Air Zoom Elite +4 for women and they are breathable, lightweight, responsive and cushioned running shoes. Try out the Nike Air Zoom Elite +4 for men or the Nike Air Pegasus +26, which is Nike's best selling running shoe - many people have sworn by it. I'm sure you'll be able to find that at Footlocker and many specialty or retail running stores. Hope this helps! :)

New Balance Running Shoes?

William Wi

First time buying a pair today and I bought the MX408WN (Men's XCross Training 408 White Navy). What I want to know is this: I've read that the higher model numbers like the 990, 991,992, etc, are "better quality" than the lower (in my case, 408) model numbers. Is this true? If so, is it a NOTICEABLE difference? Or is it a difference you'll notice with time? Does it really matter for someone that'll be doing not much more than running on a tread mill at the gym? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Answer
It all depends on how far you are running-I started running in thirty dollar Avias and I really liked them until they started breaking down after I increased my milage

How about New Balance Men's MR1224 Running Shoe is Good running shoes?

http://www.bestrunningshoes.us/NewBalance_679286011_B0014STM7O_New-Balance-Mens-MR1224-Running-Shoe.html

or Any Suggestion??

Answer
I wear New Balance shoes because so far they are the best ones for my feet. The only way you can find that out is by trying them on in a shop. Buying a new brand or model online without trying them on is asking for trouble.

The reason for this is that most shoe manufacturers sizes vary from one manufacturer to another so what fits my feet well might not fit yours.

Having said that, on a quality thing, New Balance makes good quality shoes and they easily last a year running. just make sure that they suit your feet and runnign style

An Oxford Women's Shoe?

Lyla

Where can I get some of these shoes for under $30 ? I live in Philadelphia and want both a Brown and a black one that has a little heel. Any suggestions?

Answer
Call Customer Service 1-800#, or email them.
This is YAHOO, it's a World Wide Web and many of us have not even bought anything or work @ any shoe stores if they have Oxford women's shoes in your size.

Buyer beware when it comes to buying shoes online, and I do not rec. using PayPal. I got screwed, took 3 years for my credit.
I bought 2 pair of shoes, $700 worth @ Zappos, where they have free shipping & free returns. I am a 5 1/2, so I bought a size 6. Returned them. Ordered a 5, too small. I saved $700.
I went to Nordstrom's, they're having shoe sales. Found 2 shoes, both less than $300. Both were rated as 'best comfortable shoes for walking'. BTW: I wore one of the boots for 4 hours, and I didn't even do that much walking, mostly standing on the same spot . . . . and I was already limping. I took it back the following day!
My son bought a pair of Nike beach sandals. They didn't come in his size, so he bought the one larger. They weren't sold in stores! He was walking around sandals too big, only because he didn't want to pay for return shipping and re-stocking fees.
Shoes that are good for some, may hurt your feet. Just saying!

Big feet and shoe question?

Hello everyone, my name is Austin And I am 14.

I am 5"5 and have size 11-11.5 shoes. I generally wear long-ish shorts and bought Adidas Originals Adi Rise Mid shoes (they are basketball shoes, high tops you could almost say. Look em' up!). They seem really, really big, almost like boots. Does anyone know if they are supposed to be this size, or am I just too short for these shoes?
@Sur La Mer

They fit perfectly, most comfortable shoes I've ever had actually, they just look big.

I want to start Cross Country running next year?

Lucille

I am a 15 year old girl, going to be in 10th grade next year. I want to be on the X country team and actually be very successful at it. I want to have good times. What are some really good running shoes for training and/or meets? Any other tips you have in general would be awesome! Thanks!

Answer
I suggest going to Roadrunner for some really good running shoes! I personally feel that running good running shoes vary between people. What I think is comfortable could be uncomfortable for you. If you are wondering though, I run cross country in Nike running shoes with custom soles (from Roadrunner).
Another popular brand is "Asics". :)

Here's some tips that my coach and even my really good XC friends give me. I find it to be really helpful! :)

Focus on your diet. What are you eating? Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. In the morning a banana and oatmeal or toast is a good start before a run. Don't eat any acidic fruits such as grapes or oranges because they wont settle in your stomach as well. If so, eat them after a run. Drink Gatorade after a run as well, that way it will replace all your energy, or electrolytes lost in your body. If not Gatorade, plenty of water (a lot of it). Also, before a run, drink water constantly. But I strongly suggest in sips, because if I gulp down water before a run it just sloshes around in my stomach making me feel nauseous and it gives me cramps.

To plan when you eat think of it this way: The less time before a run, the less you eat. The best time to eat is two hours (2) before a run, that way your stomach has time to digest it.

Running tips: Stretch your legs, but never forget to stretch your upper body, because soreness can always appear in the upper body (especially the back or shoulders).
When running the best choice to run on is in this order:
1) Run on grass or dirt - it's softer and puts less pressure on your knees, making them less sore.
2) If not grass, then asphalt - again, less pressure.
3) Cement should always be your last choice - more pressure, more pain on your knees later.

Oh, and today as I was running I noticed a bad habit of my friend. She would always do this: Run as fast as she can. Then stop. Run as fast as she can. Then stop...This is a very bad habit for a runner, especially for a distance runner because first it will slow you down, and tire you out much more easily. Find a pace you can run consistently on. It will go much faster for you, plus it will save a lot more energy than you think it will.

Another thing that runners tend to do is if they are running with a friend or running and a person passes them, NEVER try to beat them because they are going at their own pace, which is different than yours. By doing that, you are for sure slowing yourself down because even if you do go past them, you can't continue that pace for a long time, as the other person can. So again, run at your own pace!

Also, get good running shoes. That should always be the first outfit item to think about for a runner. Uncomfortable shoes means more pain on feet, possibly more blisters, and a greater chance of injury.

Main points:

Drink plenty of water. Be watchful of what you eat. More fruits and vegetables.

You can also try "carbo-loading" which is where you eat tons of carbs such as pasta the day (or night) before the big race. It works for a lot of runners, but it varies. Sometimes it might not work in some people and you have to get your body used to carbo loading.

Build up to long distances!

GOOD LUCK! And have fun running! XC is so fun!

Is it okay for guys to wear girls' running shoes?

Entrusto

First let me get this straight: I am not gay. I'm just trying to get good running shoes for my last high school cross country season. My shoe size, a men's 6.5, is too small for normal stores to carry in men's sizes. The smallest they go to is an 8. They steered my towards the youth section, but they all suck! Plus I'm 17 yrs old and I think those are meant for elementary school kids. (Even in middle school my friends started wearing men's shoes while I was still wearing children's shoes.) I talked to my coach and he said to find women's shoes. My other coach also agreed and said that he had done it before and the girls on his team noticed... I don't know if I should follow his footsteps and go get women's shoes... Any suggestions? Thanks!

Answer
Do it and no one would be the wiser. With all the neon designs for both sexes and the "tough guys wear pink" stuff no one is going to be able to tell that you're wearing women's shoes. Besides buying specialty shoes designed for a woman are going to be far better for you than mock running shoes made for kids. Good luck in your season.

Do nike and puma shoes run the same size?

Ruler

I wear an 11 in nike women and I was thinking about getting a pair of puma high tops and was wondering is there much of a size difference.
I know I could just try them on but I am ordering over the internet.

Answer
Puma's run one size smaller than nike's.So if you are an 11 in nike's then you should get a twelve in Puma's.

Comparing Nike and Puma shoe sizes?

Pinkberry

I currently have Nike running shoes in Women's size 6. I'm looking to get Puma slip-ons (El Rey) online, but I'm not sure what size I should get. Does anyone what Puma sizes are compared to Nike? What size Puma slip-ons should I get?

Answer
Nike tends to make bigger shoe sizes if you can't tell already. So you should get a 1/2 size smaller because Nike likes to make shoes (usually) a 1/2 size bigger than any other manufacturer.

Cute everyday shoes with arch support?

Cathy J

Ok, so I'm 15 and I live in WI, so i need cute warm comfy shoes that i can wear everyday. and i have really high arches in my feet, so I need to wear shoes with a lot of arch support too =/ any suggestions? i would really appreciate help; i'm not a fan of inserts. =)

Answer
Some athletic shoes will have arch inserts that come with them. Most shoes will not have high arch support because it does not conform to the average person. Some will prolly be better then others, but unfortunately inserts will prolly give you the required support. But really depends on how high your arches really are. Good luck.

?For Men; How do i find the best running shoe?

veronicque

I am trying to buy my husband running shoes but he's not here to tell me if he thinks there comfortable he's in iraq so any suggestions men?

Answer
Lot of factors to consider.
Is he going to actually run in them or is he looking for a fashion statement? His running style & his build. If you have an old pair of his running shoes try to check the bottom for how it is worn - if he used them a lot for walking also this may not show what you need to know. See if he is a heavy heel striker or runs on his toes more, check for if the wear is centered or say running from the rear outer edge to the front inner edge (this will indicate that he pronates, opposite of suppinatation). Basics- majority of shock absorption needs to go where he lands but too much can lead to instability, Different mid-sole designs especially in the transition area from the arch to the heel can help even out suppination/pronation. Heavier people need a firmer mid-sole that is not going to roll on them.
Easiest - bring a pair of his old shoes into a dedicated running/tri store, ask a salesperson to give you some ideas on what you are looking for.

I'm looking for some good running shoes. Help?

amii :)

There's SO many options. I need some shoes that are good for going on a jog outside, or on a treadmill.
I'm 16, and I just need some shoes to go for a jog in to get some exercise.
I'm not looking for anything $80, something around $40.

Answer
Shoes matter, especially if you are heavy. They protect your legs from impact stress, and they keep your legs aligned so they develop evenly, and you do not twist your ankles or put undue stress on your knees. Some cheap shoes work fine too, but they tend not to stand up as long.

Pick your shoes by trying on insane numbers of pairs of shoes and jogging around the store in them. Discount shoe stores have just as good a shoes as do athletic shoe stores... but there is no salesman to fit them. Pay no attention to whether they are men or women's shoes... it does not matter. Women's shoes have a narrower heel and lower back than men's shoes... It is your FEET you want to match, not your gender :) If you are a new runner, you will probably want shoes that are a little higher, and provide more ankle support than the ones with the cut-down around the ankle bone. Lightweight and good cushioning are features to look for, and a slight wedge is nice if you plan to be primarily running... Flatter soles are better for aerobics because you will then need cushioning under your forefoot, not just for heel strike.

You will know when you find the right pair, because they will FEEL right. Wear the socks you plan to run in. Go a half size larger that your usual size, because you will be slamming your toes into the front of ones your usual size while you run, and that is not good for your toes... or your mood about running.

SO my advice? Test drive some shoes, take plenty of time to do it, and don't even try on any that cost more than you plan to spend.

Wear decent cotton or cotton/wool socks, and if you get *any* chafing, powder your feet with gold bond. If you get shoes with a removable insole, you can dry them better between runs by taking the insole out... If you don't get a removable insole, stuff them with newspaper after every run. Dry shoes last longer,(and smell better) and so cost less :)

If you get really serious about running, then more expensive shoes start to make sense... But the shoes you will need will depend on what sort of running you get interested in. The best shoes for track, road and trail differ quite a bit, and are NOT the kind of shoes you wear in a gym for weight lifting or aerobics. When you need those shoes, the ones you buy now will be blown out. If you are losing weight, the shoes you buy now will not be the right shape after a couple months anyway (your feet will be different). Go get em then, when you need them, and know what you need them for :)

What type of running shoe for....?

Sarah D

im in eighth grade and run track in the spring and cross country in fall. Next year I'm planning on running all three seasons. *I want nike+ for Christmas but don't know which shoes to buy* I already have an old pair of asics http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/ASC1329/Womens_ASICS_GEL-Cumulus_10_Running_Shoe ... thats them.

So i don't think I should buy another pair like that. I was wondering if it would be better to buy ones with bigger shox or smaller ones. I'm a sprinter...nothing above a 400 yet. and would be running at least 3 miles.

Answer
I run XC I find the best shoes are mizunos for training runs
for XC races I have asics flats
Mizunos are very light and are very comfortable about 5-6 people on my team have mizunos
also you will probably want to get new pairs of shoes before each season

I got a new pair for track and a new pair for XC and it is currently a few months before track starts and need a new pair. (expect needing a new pair every 3-4 months depending on how much u run.

Depending on were you buy the shoes you might be able to test the shoes to see what you like best. Where I go (orlando area) is a store called Track Shack they are a running specitally store and they run all the local 5ks

Running shoes?

soccersobc

I just have a few questions about running shoes.

1 Is it really worth blowing a hundred dollars for a pair of running shoes?(I a 14 year old with little cash to spend on such expensive shoes)For example, has anyone bought cheap shoes and ended up being injured because of the shoes?

2 How often should a runner replace his/her shoes?(I usually run about 4 miles five days a week)

3 What is the running shoe for the money?

Answer
I work at a specialty running store in California and im also a competitive runner. I have worked with running shoes for years and know that brands like asics, brooks, new balance, nike, misuno, adidas, sacony and a few others have great long distance running shoes. It all depends on what type of shoe you need (neutral, stability and motion control) and how you want it to feel. If you over pronate (your feet and/or ankle role inward) than you need a shoe with some stability (stability=grey material on the inner arch of the shoe or with mizuno is more radical wave like on the Inspire) to support your foot so it can run neutrally. A neutral shoe has white all around the base and is for people who supinate (roll out while toeing off) or for people who donât over pronate. Motion control is for people who over pronate like crazy or for rare conditions like surgery on the foot.

Each brand caries all three types of shoes; they just feel different for each brand.
Asics and Brooks are two brands that have a happy medium feel where most of the population will buy a shoe from them so itâs safe to by from them and if you donât like them; try New Balance.

Fit:
This is a list of what foot type usually works with each brand (this is not always right, but it is most of the time).
Adidas: high arch
Sacony: high arch
Nike: normal to high arch
Asics: normal to high arch
Brooks: normal to low arch
Mizunno: normal to low arch
New Balance: low arch

Price:
When you buy a running shoe the price should be about $85 and up for a new style. If you go to an all-a-round sports store, the shoe should cost $65 and up unless youâre buying an Asics 2110 for $45. The shoes around $85 dollars and up usually are lighter and last longer. A good place to buy shoes is the running center or www.runningcenters.com
(all online orders are 10% off)

Shoe life:
Depending on your weight and how you run, the shoe should last about 400-500 miles until you need a new pair. Running on worn-out shoes is one of the best ways to get injured. I have see shoes last about 900, but donât chance it.

I have a high arch and a couple shoes work for me.
I currently run in asics (DS trainers), nike (Vomero), New Balance (1061) with a DS trainer liner. I race in adidas (adizero). I still want a pair of the new brooks (Adrenalin) and I know they work for me and feel good.
I use different shoes for different workouts; thatâs why I have so many (I also work at a running store so get a BIG discount and some are free for testing^_^).

Good running shoes for people with flat feet?

Rey Perez

My feet have been hurting at work lately and I got a callous because I havent been wearing the right shoe. What kind of sneaker shoe brand should I buy

Answer
Vibrams are the WORST shoe you can wear if you have flat feet. Your feet NEED support and vibrams are the closest thing to running barefoot as in no support.

If there is a local running store near you - a store like Fleet Feet, not something like Sports Authority or Feet; just do a search on running stores), head there and get a gait analysis, and make sure it's more than having a saleperson simply watch you walk across the store in your socks. A decent store will have you on a treadmill where they can gauge your stride, footstrike, etc. Big box stores like Sports Authority, though they might have salespeople that are runners, are really not the place to get the right shoe for you if you have no idea what shoe to get.

Even though I technically have normal arches based on the wet test (dip your feet in water, step on a newspaper to see the imprint; if you see an arch, normal foot, flat foot or high arch), my feet are flat, I am an extreme heel-striker, and I am a severe overpronator. While I was in the correct group of shoes (stability), I needed a sturdier shoe.

You might find that your foot type may be wrong, or that depending on factors other than your build, like your age, weight (a heavier runner might need something with more cushioning), how long you have been running, where you run (pavement, trail), your average pace (fast runner or steady slow runner), and how many miles you plan to put on your shoes per week can determine your correct type of shoe.

A good store will not pressure you to buy their shoes, though some will do the gait analysis for free if you buy a shoe they have there. You can take their information and do a bit more research on the shoe(s) suggested and either purchase them through Ebay (they do have lots of new in box shoes, which is why I do all my shopping there). Many times online stores like runningwarehouse have sales on last season shoes, which are still new and often priced quite nicely. Be prepared to replace the shoes every 300 or so miles, since they will break down in the midsole even though the shoes look new. So be prepared to purchase several pairs over the span of a year. Trust me, there are few things more painful than running in a pair of shoes that are no longer good for running.

No one brand or style of shoe is better since everyone's feet are different. While I love my Asics Kayanos, many hate it and prefer something with even more cushioning, like the Brooks Trance. I started out on Nike Shox before I realized that these are pretty awful shoes - for me - though many like them. A good running store can at least narrow down for you types of shoes that you might like, and if you are willing to experiment (get two pairs of shoes and alternate them), you might find out that the one shoe you would never otherwise consider would be your shoe of choice. My husband, who has wide, flat feet and overpronates, uses the Brooks Beast, but depending on your personal biomechanics (even some flat footed runners are underpronators, others overpronate), you might be suggested other brands or styles of shoe.

A good site to start your search on a shoe for you is on runnersworld.com; there is a link on the left side of the main page for shoe finder and reviews, and perhaps that can also help you.

Jordan Trunners for running?

brunaldhin

I asked a similar question but know I'm wondering solely about these. Are these good to run a couple miles a day plus gym in them? Does anyone have any experience doing so in them? I'm asking because I'm looking for a pair of good looking running shoes.

Answer
Hi

If you're going to run every day (particularly on a hard surface) you should go to a specialist running store, get your running style checked, and buy the shoes which are the most suitable.

Why? Because running is a high impact exercise. It puts tremendous strain on ankle and knee joints and the majority of injuries suffered by runners stem from poor footwear.

I'm not saying don't get good looking shoes. Just as long as they give you the proper protection. And only someone who has checked whether you over pronate, are a heel striker etc can give you that advice.

Enjoy your running.

Answer
6PM.com has lots of running shoes on sale, I bought a pair of New Balance Minimus Trail shoes from them recently. Another option is Zappos, it's a bit more pricey but you can't beat the free delivery and free returns :) Good Luck!

Which shoes are these?

Elizabeth

So today when I was at the store looking for nice shoes for indoor, I found practically perfect ones! Except the color, so I decided to order online. But I guess the shoes were put in random boxes or something because I wrote down Nikeair max torch 4. But, that is not the shoe I tried on.
It was more along the lines of this:
http://www.nikecheap.org/images/2012/11/19/Womens%20Nike%20Air%20Max%202011%20Hole%20Shoes%20Black%20Purple.jpg
It had the mainly black, with purple base. The shoe eyelets were separate cloth fabric type of thing (rather than the solid eye holes) that were bright pink and stood out. They were like off trail running shoes so they were a bit spikier than normal gym shoes. And they were women's (I'm pretty sure...)
That's about the best description I can give...Please help :l I don't want to go back to the store tomorrow because I have a lot to do tomorrow and it's a ways away...

The eyelets were like those... Main difference is that they aren't basketball shoes (and the bottom).

Its a little hard to figure out exactly what kind of shoes you are talking about? regular running shoes or indoor track spikes? If you are asking about track spikes then these are the closest things I could find...http://www.zappos.com/nike-jana-star-xc-5-black-chlorine-blue-bright-violet
But I doubt those are what you were looking for...
