Good running shoes for a beginner and general running advice?

I'm going to start running regularly and I was wondering what kind of shoes I should get.
I'm a female with very high arches. I'm starting with 2 miles a day 6 days a week. I notice that I get tired pretty easily and I try to run through it. I'll run about a quarter of a mile, walk a quarter, run a quarter, etc. Is this okay at first or should I make my running longer? Shorter? Any more experienced runners with advice out there? Thanks :D

Your running is fine, continue to pace yourself and walk and stop and rest as you feel the need. If you are older than 35, then stay at your current schedule for about six months before pressing further and or faster.

best barefoot running shoes for beginners?

Hey, I just started running. Sometimes at the gym others outdoors.
I had problems with my knees before, so the price is not a problem. I just need the best shoes!
I'm looking for barefoot, because apparently are the best right know!
In case you need this.
My weight is 135 ,height 5.4, I'm 23 years old, beginner.

I highly recommend getting a pair of Vibram Five Fingers as they're the most popular barefoot running shoes in the market today. It's super lightweight and very comfortable to wear.

You want cheap shoes? I hate to say it but you will get what you pay for unfortunately. Go to your local Modell's, they usually have older models of running shoes by good brands such as New Balance, Nike, Asics and even addidas. Definately use a moisture wicking material when working out typically known as 'dry fit'. Cotton will just weigh you down & entrap the heat within your body making you feel more tired & sluggish. If you want to go cheap but decent; go to Kohls and check out Tek Gear. That is pretty good dry fit for a beginner. good luck : )

Don't bother. Those things are just a rip-off on barefoot running. Running completely barefoot is far better for you.
