Varicose and spider veins?

Q. I'm 13 and a girl. My mom and grandmother both have these a lot in their legs and feet, and I'm starting to get them D: I've gotten a small on at the top of my calf, and a few small ones in my feet already D: I don't know what's causing them or whether or not it's just hereditary, but I don't want them at this age. When I'm older, yeah, natural. But not now D: please help, any ways on how to reduce the appearance of Them, or how to get rid of them completely? Thanks so much.

Answer
There is a surgery to remove them but at your age you really don't need it. Here are a few ways naturally : One of the first methods of at-home treatment for varicose and spider veins to reduce swelling and discomfort on legs can be the use of compression socks. These socks are available at many clothing stores, and come in many different styles and colors. Compression socks are support socks, or even hose, that squeeze your legs throughout the day to improve circulation. For even stronger compression socks, a prescription from a doctor can be prescribed to help people with severe cases of swollen varicose veins. The use of herbs and vitamins to treat minor health issues at home has exploded over the past few years. Vitamins C and E have been used to help treat the swelling of spider and varicose veins, while a diet that is low in salt and high in sugar may also help reduce vein swelling. Fiber also may strength vein walls, which eases the pressure on the veins. Removing or reducing the consumption of high animal proteins and starchy foods many also help vein swelling, and possibly stop more varicose veins from forming. Poor circulation in legs can be caused by the lack of proper exercise, and the restriction of movement. Walking, cycling and running are three ways to improve blood circulation in spider and varicose veins, and could also improve the appearance of the swollen veins. Even daily short walks, wearing loose clothing in the affected area, and wearing low-heeled shoes may provide relief to the veins. Losing weight by improving your diet and exercise may help prevent further swelling in the veins. Massages can be beneficial to the circulation of blood in varicose and spider veins. Massages to help ease varicose vein pain and swelling can either be performed by a professional, a loved one or even by the one suffering from the swollen veins. Daily massages to the affected area may over time greatly reduce the appearance of varicose veins, and the massages could be reduced to weekly or even monthly treatments to keep more spider or varicose veins from forming.

varicose vains at 16?

Q. Uh, im 16 and I think I have varicose veins.. or started to get them? I have this little pirple and blue vein behind my leg and my moms are like that but thicker I just wanted to know if there was a way for me to treat those early so I wouldnt get any more? Exercise or vitamins or any really inexpensive way. (I do not take birth control)

Answer
The most significant thing you can do to make sure they don't get worse is to get plenty of exercise - walk, bike, swim, run - whatever it is you like to do. And maintain a healthy weight - stay slim. If you end up in a job where you have to spend long hours on your feet wear comfortable supportive shoes and good stockings. (I know - they don't look great, but today they are much nicer than they used to be.) Don't wear high heels. Don't smoke, and sit with your feet raised as much as possible when you sit.

Unfortunately, varicose veins tend to have a genetic connection. My mother had terrible varicose veins and I have terrible varicose veins particularly in one leg. But when I was young I didn't know what to do to help prevent them - but I did not ever smoke and have never worn high heels in my life. What I did do was work in a job where I was on my feet for hours at a time and when I was young I didn't pay that much attention to a healthy diet and exercise. You can't control your genetics, but you can control how you handle the genetics you have. Read here for more information.
