hey so im on my schools track team and i was woundering if athletic works are good for running shoes??

To be honest with you I'd stay away from them. They are a very generic type of shoe and a more name brand shoe will probably suit you better. Unless you have a budget of like less than $20 you should probably shop around online froma major athletic retailer.
You need to know if you just need running shoes or track spikes. I've seen $85 msrp Nike spikes on sale for $9.99 on eastbay.com because they were last years models.
You could plenty of shoes for less than $40 online.

Most shoes you will find in payless, walmart, kmart, target etc. aren't going to be that great. They won't be using quality leathers, midsoles, etc, nor do you have billion dollar advancement teams working around the clock to make even better shoes than you could imagine. Go into a shoe store and ask to check out the technical running shoes. Stay away from the shoxs and bounce pillars etc cuz those are just maketing gimmick shoes. Go with a good Brooks, Asics, or Saucony running shoe. You can thank me later. :)

Do you consider skater shoes to be just like athletic shoes?

Make a petition and i hope it works! Prove it by showing her a video you personally made about people skating inthe perticular shoes. Show her how you can be athletic in them. If she does not approve i suggest Heelies. They are gym shoes with little rollers on the bottom. they are quite fun and simple and also athletic!
