There are definitely some really good shoes that are under $100. Like someone already said here, if you can get the Nike Free's for under $100, I would get them. That is if you have high or normal arches and you don't pronate a whole lot. If you do pronate a lot, you should get stability shoes. Asics makes the best stability shoes. I'll give you a couple of choices here.

I can't possibly overstate this fact, You need a shoe built for you, you can get the most amazing shoes for 100 dollars but it may not work for you, what I'm talking about it pronation. its the lateral movement of your ankle on impact and you can't see it by yourself you need someone to see what part of your heal hits the ground first, the more inside hits the worse you pronate, also any good shoe store should let you try on your shoes and run in them and they should watch and help you pick out how bad your feet pronate, if you dont know what i'm talking about go to another store, as for shoes, go get ones that fit your pronation level, any top brand is good, i've run in asics my whole life but now have a pair of saucony's, lots of my friends use mizunos, brooks are almost as good addidas are ok never run in a nike, thats just not a good idea, best of luck
