I need to get some shoes for biking.. (more detail inside)?

and i need something that i can easily get into toe baskets.. i had some nike air running shoes, and thoes were too flimsy, and fell out of the basket (seeing that they dont have any sides)... so now i am using some koston skate boarding shoes... and i know thoes arent very good for riding.. what would you recommend? thanks! btw.. i need something with a flatish, hard bottom so they wont absorb shock, and something with a rather roundish toe, that wont bunch up.. thx

For a $100, you can get biking shoes thru REI.

The great thing about REI is they have a very liberal return policy.

Why do you need toe clips tho? You sure they're really doing anything useful? For most, clipless works better with fewer issues for racing. If not racing, running shoes with plain platform pedals will do the job with no hassle.

Where are you going hiking? if an inner city park the running shoes will suffice, if into a wilderness the combat boots would do you better
