WW 2 may have had a different outcome had it not been for "ROSIE THE RIVETER" !!! They built the "War Machines" by manning the assembly lines, presses and welding, together with maintaining the equipment also needed for production. They flew the planes to deliver supplies and drove tanks to be loaded on ships to railyards and then drove the trains to ports for final delivery to the military. They were linemen for the power Co's They bought and sold war bonds to help finance the warThey had "scrap drives" to gather metal, rubber, and anything else needed for the "war effort" They even went so far as to give up stockings so all production of silk and nylon could go towards the making of parachutes .It was their blood donations done on a rigid schedule to make sure the GIs' got the life saving blood they needed. They gave birth and would forgo the pain medication so that a wounded soldier could get it. They would put a type of toner on their legs and draw a line up the back of their legs to resemble stockings. Everyone grew what was known as "Victory Gardens" rasing vegetables ans sugar cane to make molasses so all other large scale sugar production could go to the GIs' Heck, THEY DID EVERYTHING !! Made bombs ,ships, planes ,trains, jeeps ,trucks , you name it and they either built it or ran it or serviced it. They became very resouceful repairing shoes or trading with neighbors to get the rationing stamps for whatever they needed. The thing they all dreaded the most was to see a military car coming up their street and wept with their neighbors when the news arrived their beloved husband, son, brother and yes, even the WACs' and Waves" who also lost their lives. If not for the "Patriotic Women" stepping up to the task at hand and rolling up their sleeves to work at all the roughest, toughest greasy and dirty jobs the war might have had a different outcome. The WOMEN OF THE USA DID IT ALL!!! And GOD BLESS THEM FOR IT!!!!!!

Hello,

Shopping in your twenties and looking for a fun, funky look you'll want to check out:

Free People. Size XS is runs small & is tiny! Free People has all kinds of cute dresses, boho maxi dresses, tight sexy dresses, skirts, sweaters & cute jeans. The price points range but if you're like and love "the thrill of the hunt" look for Free People at Nordstrom Rack and even e-bay for greater discounts. I've seen Free People at Lowman's. Love them! They run small.

Abercrombie & Fitch runs also small and is great for hip fresh denim jeans and skirts. Great beach gear/swimwear. Cute casual dresses, comfy tee's and sweats, all starting in size xs.

Arden B is hip, urban of-the-moment and their clothing line starts at either a 0 or XS. Sassy tops for Saturday night.

Yes, heels are going to give you some height!

Know your body type before you wear skinny jeans. Not all girls can pull off skinny jeans! I know I can't! Actually, if I offset skinny jeans with boots, then I can wear them. But I've got curves so I'm loyal to my boot cut designer jeans.

There's a brand I just discovered, Allison Izu, who is petite herself, graduated from NYC's Fashion Institute and is making custom petite jeans & skirts with a 27" inseam. Her sizes start at 000. Yes 000. Wow that is skinny!

She designs from Hawaii & her jeans are made in CA. Love the - Made in the USA.

The site I mention above has all kinds of information on what brands run small, a "what to wear to work" section (sounds like you've already got that covered) petite lingerie & active wear (think Puma) and more!

Hope that helps.
